Improvement

We've made significant improvements to our insider reports pages, including enhanced filtering and colour-coded symbols for improved readability.

Why we did this

Insider trading information is a valuable resource for investors. This is because company insiders – think top executives or shareholders with significant stakes – typically have in-depth knowledge about their organization's performance and prospects. When these insiders buy or sell their company's shares, they do so based on their belief in the company's future performance.

This is where our enhanced insider reports pages come in handy. The improved filtering and color-coded symbols allow you to track and interpret this insider trading activity more easily, leading to more informed investment decisions. As always, we strive to equip you with the most accurate and accessible financial information, so you can invest confidently.

Update

We've redesigned our Position Overview page to enhance customer experience and provide better market insight.

So, what's new?

We're particularly excited about this redesign, which aims to enhance our customers' understanding of their investments and promote a greater market consciousness, including:

1. Comprehensive overview with natural language: We've introduced a more user-friendly interface, explaining the details of your holdings in plain language, making it easier to understand and manage your investments.

2. Daily movers: Stay informed about the market's pulse with our new feature, 'Daily Movers'. This will show you the highest movers in your portfolio and the market, ensuring that you're always updated about the most significant shifts.

3. Global position activity: Get a complete picture of your investment activity. Our global overview now includes all your transactions, stock splits, dividends, and even share transfers from other brokers. This feature helps you keep track of every aspect of your investment journey.

Disclaimer: The transactions and stocks shown in this interface are for illustrative purposes only and should not be considered investment advice. Your financial decisions should be based on your personal analysis or consultation with a financial advisor.

Bug Fix

Our Robinhood Sync API has undergone additional enhancements, resulting in improved stability and connection accuracy.

What has changed?

Previously, users experienced a bug where some transactions were duplicated indefinitely, leading to incorrect position ownership and returns data. This issue was caused by a problem with the Robinhood cursor logic for syncing positions, which resulted in an endless loop of transactions.
Our development team has now implemented a fix that resolves the looping issue and ensures accurate data representation across all parts of the app.

Update

Fey now supports passwordless authentication. Our customers can choose to login using their preferred email addresses in addition to Google login.

Why we did this

Our passwordless authentication system is designed to provide enhanced security and a better user experience. You can log in to Fey using just your email address, and we'll send you a unique link to access your account. This eliminates the risks associated with poor password choices and management, as well as the frustration of forgotten passwords. Our magic links expire after 5 minutes, and we display the location from where the authentication link was requested for additional transparency and security.

We’ve also put significant effort into crafting the design and user experience of our authentication system. From the email design to the subtle animations, making the process more engaging and intuitive.

Improvement

Fey Sync Engine now supports ACATS and Option Events for both TD Ameritrade and Robinhood.

Fey Sync Engine

Fey's Sync Engine is our proprietary integration API built from the ground up. Unlike industry-standard aggregators, our Sync Engine allows us to seamlessly connect with brokers and provide real-time updates. Recently, we made significant improvements to the reliability and accuracy of our aggregation.

One of the most notable enhancements is the addition of support for ACATS. This update ensures that when you transfer assets between brokers, the information is accurately reflected in Fey. Additionally, we now sync Option Events, including both exercise and assignment, addressing a previous issue that resulted in some users having incorrect share quantities compared to their broker.

Overall, these improvements have made Fey even more efficient and reliable in connecting with your broker.

Improvement

We've made significant improvements to our search. Not only is searching for a position faster, but it's also more accessible with the Fey command.

With the latest update, searching within our app is more intuitive and efficient than ever before.
Firstly, we've eliminated unnecessary clicks and navigation by automatically replacing the current page with the selected result. This means that you can quickly and easily find what you're looking for without having to navigate back and forth.

Additionally, our search now takes into account where you are in the app and offers contextual results. For example, if you're viewing a company profile, the search suggestions will include the company's peers.

To access the search command, you can press from anywhere within the app.

Improvement

We’ve added more than 4000 high-quality logos into our database, which not only enhances the appearance of your portfolio but also makes it easier to scan.

More context

Our team has worked hard to incorporate high-quality vector logos to enhance the user experience of our customers. These updates are part of our ongoing commitment to providing polished design and functionality. Each logo is carefully crafted in high definition and updated to conform to the respective company's latest branding guidelines.

Improvement

To further strengthen account security, Robinhood users can now opt for in-device approval as their preferred method of two-factor authentication.

Why we did this

Robinhood provides three options for two-factor authentication, which include authenticator apps, SMS (not recommended), and device approvals. By offering all these methods in Fey, we give our customers greater flexibility in safeguarding their accounts.

More context on security

Fey is dedicated to promoting responsible usage of its platform by individuals and has taken several measures to ensure the safety of all our customers. These measures include, but are not limited to:

  • Not storing user passwords, but instead using access tokens generated by the brokers;
  • Encrypting access tokens at all times;
  • Setting expiration dates for access tokens as determined by the brokers and refreshing them automatically, so that even if a token is stolen, it will expire by itself;
  • Revoking access tokens immediately upon a change in the user's broker password;
  • Rate limiting on all broker calls to avoid being flagged as bot trading;
  • Rate limiting on trade calls, ensuring that no two trades can be placed within a certain interval, causing suspicious transactions to be immediately aborted by Fey;
  • Utilizing caching and cursors to limit the number of calls;
  • Implementing idempotency keys on orders to eliminate a category of network retry issues, such as duplicate orders; and
  • Storing audit logs of transactions, allowing for traceability and accountability.
Update

We're happy to announce the beta release of our TD Ameritrade integration for read and write functions. The connection is finally stable, and we're adding final touches and enhancements to ensure a seamless experience.

Additional context

This integration will enable users to seamlessly manage their accounts within Fey, providing a more holistic view of their financial portfolio. We are utilizing TD Ameritrade's official APIs to ensure a secure and seamless connection. Additionally, we are constantly striving for accuracy and reliability in all of our calculations, which is why we are currently finalizing some edge cases around historical positions and the math for 1D returns. Our engineers are working closely with our customers to resolve any potential edge cases.

We owe a huge thank you to our earliest testers and customers who have helped us refine the user experience and get to where we are today. Their feedback has been invaluable in ensuring that Fey continues to meet the evolving needs of all our customers.

Improvement

We've enhanced our onboarding tutorial to help people who are new to command palettes. The updated tutorial guides users through using the feature in a hands-on way, enabling them to quickly become proficient.

Why we did this

At the beginning of this year, we required all Fey users to participate in onboarding calls. However, we recognized that these calls can be time-consuming, so we re-designed our onboarding process to be more self-service oriented. This allows our customers to quickly get up to speed without the need for personalized assistance.

Improvement

Why we did this

Fey emphasizes seamless keyboard navigation, but we also invest considerable effort in ensuring comprehensive mouse accessibility. However, we discovered that some users were unable to access certain pages due to the subtle nature of our buttons. To address this issue, we have introduced distinct icons for each section and incorporated user-friendly, clickable buttons for a more intuitive mouse navigation experience.

Update

Asset-specific Insider reports is now available in Fey. While we recently launched a global view of insider transactions based on volume, we're excited to offer you a more tailored experience. With this latest update, you can easily access insider transactions for each individual asset within Fey.

Firstly, you can search for the asset, open its page, and scroll down to the middle of the page where you will find the "Insider reports" section. Here, you can click on the Insider icon on the right side to open the data sheet.

Alternatively, you can simply highlight an asset and press the key on your keyboard

Update

We have implemented Fey's ability to sync your crypto positions from your Robinhood account. Now, you can view your cryptocurrency exposure from your Open Positions tab or see what has been sold on your Closed tab.

Why we did this

While we remain focused on our other assets, it's clear that crypto has become a global phenomenon, with more than 44.15 million accounts now holding at least a non-zero balance of Bitcoin. To better serve our customers, we're now offering the ability to view your crypto positions without needing to leave Fey.

Update

We have enhanced our Analysis page by incorporating insider transactions. This feature enables our customers to gain valuable insights into how insiders perceive the company's prospects, which can serve as a reliable indicator of the company's overall health.

Why we did this

Insider transactions are important for several reasons. First, they can provide insights into how insiders view the company's prospects. For example, if a CEO or director buys a significant amount of stock, it may signal that they have confidence in the company's future and believe that the stock is undervalued.

By monitoring insider transactions, investors can gain insights into the company's financial performance, strategic plans, and potential risks, which can help them make more informed investment decisions.

Update

Although onboarding calls are useful, they can be time-consuming for many people. So, we have introduced the option for customers who have gained access to skip these calls, making it easier and faster for more people to get started.

Why we did this

Effective onboarding is crucial to introducing our users to a new product. While our team aims to connect with customers and demonstrate how to leverage Fey for maximum benefit, we understand that busy schedules may hinder the ability to schedule onboarding calls. To address this, we have developed a self-serve system that enables users to easily grasp the product's features and functionalities, without the need for a call. The self-serve system still provides direct access to our team through various channels such as Slack or in-app feedback, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention rates remain a top priority.

Update

We're excited to announce our Analyst estimates dashboard. Our customers now have access to forecasts made by financial analysts about a company's future financial performance, including earnings, revenue, and other key financial metrics.

Here, you can click on the Analyst estimates icon on the right side to open the data sheet.

Alternatively, you can simply highlight an asset and press the key on your keyboard

What does this mean for Fey

Analyst estimates are important for investors and companies because they provide a consensus view of what to expect in the future. For investors, analyst estimates can help inform investment decisions, including whether to buy, hold, or sell a particular stock. For companies, analyst estimates can help them understand market expectations and provide guidance on how to meet or exceed those expectations.

Update

Update

Several potential customers asked about our subscription model prior to joining our service. So we've built a pricing page to clearly outline the benefits and features offered through our subscription, ensuring complete transparency for all interested parties.

Why we did this

Rather than relying on traditional pricing models or a standard feature-based pricing page, our focus is on demonstrating the value our customers can expect to receive from Fey. We prioritize communicating both the immediate and long-term benefits of our service, highlighting the key ways in which our data providers and partners contribute to that. By emphasizing the outcomes and advantages that customers can expect to see, we aim to make our subscription as clear as possible. You can see our pricing page here →

Improvement

The “Industry Peers” section on the Canvas has undergone a redesign. Check it out by scrolling to the bottom of any asset page. You’ll now see yearly estimated revenue growth and a list-style design for easier keyboard navigation.

What has been improved

  • We incorporated an estimated revenue growth chart, which provides valuable insights into our projected financial performance.
  • To enhance the user experience, we optimized the cards for improved readability, making it easier for users to quickly grasp the information presented.
  • We included a reference asset for easier comparison
Improvement

We have revamped our homepage to prominently feature the most significant news headlines, providing users with an instant overview of the latest market trends and fluctuations in major indices.

Why we did this

You may have observed that our homepage doesn't display your performance chart. Our rationale is that featuring a daily chart could potentially create misconceptions, as focusing solely on short-term performance may not promote optimal investment strategies. To better serve you, our homepage offers a comprehensive overview of the financial landscape, encompassing headlines, trending assets, and insights into your account balance and diversification.

Update

Fey now provides access to news from premium outlets without ads or distractions, allowing for a seamless and accurate reading experience. To access the news from anywhere in the app, you can highlight any asset and hit .

This is a great development for anyone who wants to stay informed without being constantly interrupted by irrelevant ads or misleading information.

Market headlines

By condensing each headline into a single summary, our customers can easily filter out irrelevant noise and quickly gauge the overall sentiment of an asset.

Update

Welcome to Updates! As a team, we are dedicated to making constant improvements to Fey. That's why we have moved our customer updates from Slack to this page. We're excited that anyone can now see the latest updates from us as they become available.

Why we did this

At this stage, our main focus is on our customers, which involves talking to them and improving our offerings. So why divert our attention away from that? We've recognized that sharing updates fosters a greater exchange of ideas, valuable feedback, and even boosts signups, ultimately leading to increased usage of Fey. With this in mind, we dedicated a single day to build a streamlined solution using Sanity and NextJS. This approach empowers every team member to efficiently post updates and maintain our commitment to customer-centric growth.
